Growing up with Buddhist parents, I come here quite often since I was a child. It great to see it develop over the years. The first thing I always notice when coming here is the quietness and clean fresh air. I normally drive straight here from Sydney. The head monk here is very wise and it's always good to have... At the end of very poor dirt road turned into the driveway to see a wonderful sight. Large temple surrounded by pool and statues etc. very peaceful and no doubt great spot to relax. Worth a look, pity no one around to talk to for history of place.

Interesting that we were not in a particularly good mood when we arrived but left feeling more peacefull and relazed! We are not the types for meditation, belief sort of stuff but this monastery is really down to earth without the riches of modern churches and it was a lovely place to walk around with the wombat, wallaby and peacock!... I stopped by to have a look and found there was a talk beginning soon. I was invited to stay and had a beautiful meditation and talk to attend, all within the tranquil setting.

Amazingly, beautiful place. I hope to return someday to do a meditation retreat. Am sure people already would come from around Australia as it is. Opens at 10am.

I found this place as it was mentioned in my accommodations info book. You can find it quite easily by driving out to Penrose from Bundanoon on Penrose Rd (the only road from Bundanoon heading in this direction). It's on Teudits Rd which is a dirt rd. It seems so unassuming at first on approach , and then you see... More

We spent last Sunday there and enjoyed the whole experience. We arrived early but Kim welcomed us and explained what the day would involve. We were able to walk around the whole complex and enjoy the buildings and the nature reserves. We were offered tea to take around an open fire as we waited for the bell to call us... More
