Great place for walkers and families, very dog friendly area. Every second Tuesday in the month there is a classic car show at 18:00hrs which is well attended if the weather is good,

It is just as well that this country has such a dedicated band of volunteers who keep these English treasures going and allow later generations the opportunity to taste the type of lifestyle of bygone eras. The information contained in the museum was very helpful...More

A super place to visit, summer or winter; sunny or wet. Sadly this wonderful place is marred by the appalling Hub Cafe. When I order a toastie on wholemeal bread at £4-50 I do not expect to have to eat slices of ordinary supermarket processed...More

When my friend suggested taking me to an old iron smelting furnace museum my thoughts were a definite no, but how wrong could I be? This is a charming place to visit. There's ample parking, a few craft shops to visit, a small café with...More

We walked to this attraction from our caravan site on a Friday. Unfortunately the Furnace building was closed! It was near to the end of March so we were a bit surprised because we come from the Lake District and most places there are in...More

Stopped by for a walk quite by chance. Area bit muddy today after heavy rain but this did not detract from the lovely picturesque walks available, whether through the copse, along the canal or following the pathways, and plenty of water birds and native species...More
