Discover the secret world of nuclear government. For over 50 years this vast underground complex, remained secret, hidden on the outskirts of a sleepy Cheshire town. Declassified in 1993, the 35,000 sq ft underground bunker would have been the centre of Regional Government had nuclear war broken out. The bunker today offers a warm welcome to anyone looking for a totally different day out.

Very interesting for someone who remembers the Cold War. Not for the faint hearted, some of the photographs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki made one realise the implication of our current crises with USA and North Korea.

Amazing overview of the very very real threat of nuclear war that loomed over the UK decades before. The artefacts are hauntingly real and it does gove you a nervousness that this is what could have happened. The contamination room is not to be missed....More

This is one place not to miss. For those of us of a certain age this is a fascinating insight into what would have happened if someone had pressed the button. Loads of rooms with original equipment, Polaris warheads, press room, comms room etc, even...More
