Visited for a young child's birthday party. I am very supportive of eco education - this isn't quite what I was expecting - there isn't much here at all. Amersham Field Centre runs an excellent programme of activities for children during the school holidays. My son used to choose one per holiday as a treat from the age of 8 through to 12. A very good place for school and other groups. Learn about nature, see their electricity supply, learn about the weather, walk the planks of doom on an activity maze or just get lost in the countryside.

This is one of several UK sites managed by the Field Studies Council, who offer education and holiday courses (including residential in some other sites) about anything connected with the natural world. My children have been doing holiday courses here for years. They love it. The team that run it are great - really enthusiastic. My son had his birthday party there one year.
