Plan on spending at least a few hours here. So much natural beauty to take in. Spent a couple of hours enjoying the beach - Moshup. The sand is so soft and warm and the view of the cliffs is beautiful. The water is a...More

Beautiful colored clay hillside that is exposed to the ocean. You can see where the hillside is slowly sliding into the ocean. The lighthouse is sitting off in the distance which makes a nice photo opt. Great place to catch the sunset. Parking is the...More

No trip to The Vineyard is complete without a trip to the cliffs, the lighthouse, the Aquinnah beach - so beautiful! The Wampanoag legend of how the giant, Moshup, formed the cliffs is wonderful. Enjoy the Wampanoag shops and restaurants and if the lighthouse is...More

Go see these natural cliffs. They are beautiful clay formations gouged out by glaciers millions of years ago. As an ecosystem, they are extremely fragile and erode easily. Climbing or trying to walk on them is prohibited. They are best viewed from afar anyway. You...More

The geography of these towering clay cliffs is unique and spectacular. In addition to soft sand and big rocks, the historic cliffs have red, yellow, white and black clay creating a colorful and spectacular scene. The Gay Head lighthouse is here too, but this stretch is...More

The light house is great to view a 360 direction. As long as you can climb a few old winding steps. Of course a clear day you can see further, yet it's still a beautiful sight. Little shops and food around. The lighthouse also has...More

Our visit here was pretty brief, as we were on a day trip to the Vineyard. We wanted to see as much of the island as we could during that time, so it didn't leave much time for long stops, as the ferries were still...More

We visited this area twice...once on a rainy day and then again on a sunny day. It is a beautiful area, but really special on the sunny day which highlighted all the different colors. Be sure to include it in your Martha's Vineyard experience.

The cliff view is beautiful but if you go up to the light house it's even better. They have a couple food places located in the area and you can sit, eat, and enjoy the view. A great area for Martha's Vineyard pictures!

Don't be part of the crowd that only views the cliffs from the look-out area only to return to the bus or car within 10 minutes. If you are planning a trip to this part of the island, consider adding this beach to your itinerary....More

You can rent mopeds, but the busy roads are narrow and winding and there have been moped accidents on Martha's Vineyard, sad to say. I'd suggest taking a tour bus if you just want to go to the cliff lookout shops. You could... More
