I really liked Xkeken cenote - I would say only pay for that one, not samula (it is way better). Definitely advise going around 12 - 1pm, as I went at around 4pm and it's much darker. Swimming around made me wish I had a go pro, it was so pretty!

Our guide told us that there are over 1400 cenotes in Yucatán. I'm sure it's true, and advise you pick a different one. The cenotes were nice enough, but the place is over-priced and very touristy. Do NOT buy the expensive package that includes the buffet! Our meal was genuinely dreadful, surely an accomplishment of sorts in a country where... More

Entrance to the cenote was pricier than some other local places, but not bad. Walking in, you feel like you've entered a small theme park though many shops and restaurants were closed during our visit. The cenote itself was down some steep steps, but that's normal. it was a more covered cenote and for that reason was dark with some... More

What a great find! Glad we got to experience an underground cenote. This one was beautiful and I can see why it is one of the most photographed. Steep steps into cavern. A little bit of a hike from parking lot.

I went relatively early around 9am. Its a cool place. They wouldn't turn on the lights until later on, or for some special occasion. Nonetheless, it the tree roots was enlightening to look at.

This place has two Cenotes. The cenote that is actually called X'keken is breathtaking! The drawback to this place is that you will be constantly approached by people who want to offer services that may or may not even be needed. Parking is free but you will be hit for a tip by the parking attendant. The park is open... More

Beautiful cenotes (there's 2 here) breathtaking & unbelievable. We went here for $10 each. Practically free considering other ones are tourist traps at $70 & up.

Interesting, but if you are looking for the best place to spend an afternoon, the cenote Zaci in downtown Valadolid is more picturesque and you can swim there also.
