This house is a can't miss! The collection was beautiful and the restored house something to admire. We enjoyed meeting the owners. David our tour guide (in English-took around an hour) was wonderful and enthusiastic! We were happy to pay via a donation to a selection of charities of their choice! A unique can't-miss experience indeed!

If you go to Valladolid you need to visit this house. It's located near the zocalo (central square). Every day at 10 am they run a guided visit through the house in exchange of a tip (normally 100 pesos). It's very interesting and you will have the chance to learn about location craftsmanship and the collection in the house is... More

The only reason for the 2 star comment was we were expecting it to be open in the afternoon and didn't see any info to the contrary. So I am sure it is fantastic but need to visit in the am as the owners want their house to themselves in the pm, and who could blame them

We are sorry you did not have the opportunity to see our home Casa de los Venados. Yes...it is not a formal museum, nor a business. We simply open our private home each Morning for a tour at 10AM for guests to see the architectural award winning house and our collection of over 3,000 pieces of Mexucan folk and contemporary... Make it a point to make a detour to Casa de los Venados anytime I am in the Yucatán or Quintana Roo. It doesn't matter how many times I have been each time I go I am simply astounded at this collection. I actually simply do not have adequate words to describe the work of a lifetime this couple has... More

You are so very kind to take the time to write such a nice review of your visit to our home Casa de los Venados. However, with the significant change in the value of the Mexican peso to the USA dollar we have had to raise the peso suggested minimum donation to 90 pesos to make the peso donation closer... More

This is a truly amazing collection of Mexican art, of all types. The items contained in this collection rival many museums I have visited, and the wonderful thing about being able to view these items is that proceeds go to help the community. I will be back to visit this wonder casa! And I found the staff friendly, professional, and... More

Definetely worth to see. An amazing collection, getting bigger and bigger every day. Not possible to catch every details. If I had enough time, I could visit one more time. Visiting without a guide is not allowed. Better to call before visit. Tour is based on donations.

We hope you will come for another visit soon. Many people come back for additional visits as with over 3,000 pieces in the collection it is impossible yo take it all in on only one visit. More

Don't miss a tour through the private home of two avid collectors of Mexican 20th Century Art. You might even have a chance to meet the owners. The house itself is stunning and filled with over 3,000 works of art. Allow about 1 hour for the tour. No entrance fee but you are expected to make a donation which will... More

First off, the owner, who we were lucky enough to meet, was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The tour guide, I'll just put his first initial- D, spoke English very well and gave us a most exquisite experience in the house. The history behind both the 400 year old house and the art was incredible. We entered,... More

Wow! Just wow! Not only an amazing collection of Mexican folk art, but displayed in such a warm and accessible way. And that's not all: it comes with a highly educational session with a tour guide (David - you were great!). We learned a lot and enjoyed seeing the art in a living context. Also had the opportunity to meet... More
