We stopped here on a cruise and being our first time to Costa normally i wouldnt take my kids into areas i havent traveled first, its just a precaution for us, we travel a lot and are normally a laid back family but we do like to check out areas before taking our children into them. We however did not... More

We went to Costa Maya on a cruise ship. Having already checked Trip Advisor we decided against a tour and took a cab ($2 per person, each way) to Mahual Beach. We had very good service, a lounge chair and umbrella and lovely food. I also had a $20 hour long massage at the beach. The little town had some... More

I think this is the nicest beach in the area of Costa Maya. The sand is cool and comfortable. The water is clean and blue. There are lost of amenities in the area. What could be better?

This little city is a dream, the location, the water, the beach, the people, the food, the cultural evenings they organise are just wonderful.

My wife and two 17 year old grandaughters and I went here on our Costa Maya port visit. We got a cab right outside of the port facility for 2 dollars a piece. My wife and I had just finished our first scuba dive of the day with an awesome dive shop located on this beach called Gypsea Divers. Highly recommend them as they are awesome!!! We took our surface interval on this beach close to the beach club, while waiting for our next dive of the day. It was simply beautiful and... More

We took a cruise which stopped at the port of Costa Maya. From the port it is a $3/pp shuttle ride to Mahahual (a mile or two) and well worth the visit. We got a "free" table and chairs at the Krazy Lobster restaurant under the coconut palms. It was great! The sand was soft, their were hammocks to lay... More

shallow water, quite a few rocks and weeks, but not terrible. plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas available as well as copious quantities of alcoholic beverages.

if youre looking to lay in the sun, swim in the ocean and drink some tequila this is your best bet for Costa Maya. You can do some shopping up and down the road when youre done baking.

Clean, crystal clear water, and developed but without being too touristy. There are also lots of vendors for souvenir / supplies. Excellent beach day! Need to take a taxi from cruise port but it was $2 per person and worth every penny. Make sure you get drinks and try the local cuisine, it is to die for.
