Great beach, not crowded

Not commercialized with beautiful clear water! Free WiFi at most restaurants. A few small shops and friendly people.

The beach at Mahahual is very pretty. We spent time at Krazy Lobster and at another restaurant ( I can't recall its name) and it was great! There was a lot, I mean, a LOT of "sargazo" to a point that we couldn't even swim in the water. But even then, it was still nice. The issue that would keep... More

Not what I expected at all... Expected a nice resort on a nice beach. Well, not exactly a resort, more like a 6 room rundown hotel.. Mounds of brown seaweed covered the beach. However the food and drinks were good...

Our daughter took our grandkids here and spent the day. The beach had a lot of seaweed that was swept in due to high winds but the met a man and his wife who were also on vacation there any they helped them snorkel . . . a first for our grandson. Great time and great experience.

Taxis are $2 per person to shuttle the 5 min or so between the port and the beach. The boardwalk has all sorts of vendors, bars and restaurants. We had lunch at the Krazy Lobster and would go back again. The water is clear with quite a few fish right near the shore. Security guards are present and we always... More

Our Royal Caribbean cruise stopped in Costa Maya and we went on our excursion. After the excursion, we decided to walk along the Mahahual beach area and check out the markets....huge mistake. The people were pushy and rude. At one market run by a man named Miguel who called his market the "JC Penny" of markets, we decided to buy... More

Nice beaches, plenty of little market stalls, loads of restaurants and bars - what more could you ask for? Mahahual beach is a fantastic piece of Mexico for those looking to get a look at the lesser visited coastal areas.

Loved the clean and clear beach! It was a little crowded and commercialized but other than that, it was great. Even though we didn't see a lot of fish there, we saw two lion fish and a lobster which was so cool!

The little beach area where the port is located is filled with cute shops and bars and restaurants. It was nice to just sit by the ocean and have a drink. clean restrooms were available....nice little spot.

This place was nice, but everyone was pushy trying to sell stuff along the beach. We got offered drugs so many times, and not just marijuana but also cocaine. It was scary. Next time we will just stay close to the cruise port.
