Don't miss church murals

Inside the old church of San Esteban are some very old painted murals that are being restored. These are well worth a visit if you're interested in the history of Mexico.

Fascinating story of the history of Tlaxcala based on pre-Columbian and colonial texts painted on the walls and arches.

In fact the Church of St. Stephen which is there now was built from stones of the former Palace. This was a military training School for warriors of Tlaxcala. The Church... More

Close to Tlaxcala. You can drive right up to the site. Easy walk. There is a early church on the sight that is under restoration. And, it's free.
