This is a cyclist's dream! No traffic, great surface, lots of trail markers and historical viewpoints along the way. There are many ways to connect to the pathway.

Everything is planned for a safe interesting trip along the Welland Canal. It's a very beautiful area and the ships in transit are huge.

I liked parts of this trail. Not near as pretty as the trail between Niagara on the Lake and Niagara Falls. We ended up on Lake Front trail. How I don't know but that trail went right long Lake Ontario (part of it did) and we found a couple of beaches which was a bonus.

Canal Waterway Trail is great runs parallel to the Welland Canal. I've biked from where I live in Welland up past Thorold and down to Port Colborne. Great paved path, well maintained. Good for biking, walking, running, etc. Great scenery, water views. I've seen freighters going through lift bridge in Welland and freighters in Lock 7 in Thorold, very cool.... More

enjoy your bike ride in peace without risking your life to careless or intentionally inconsiderate drivers. nice long trail runs parallel to the canal. nice spots along the way to stop for water breaks. various places to park your car and unload your bike such as at the Thorold Locks or at the Allanburg bridge or in Welland.

This canal-side path is asphalt paved and nicely maintained. It is well used by walkers, runners, and bicyclists. In many places it is positioned to offer up close views of ships transiting the canal

I have always loved having the trails to walk and explore Niagara, now my teenage son and his friends have become avid bikers and also enjoy riding for hours whenever they can. The trails provide a safe way to explore without traffic.

A bike/walking trail exists that follows the Welland Canal and the Niagara Parkway through Niagara on the Lake, Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, Ridgeway, Port Colborne. You will enjoy the water, the greenery and little traffic. Lots of beautiful homes, historic sites and wonderful restaurants. (Try the restaurant at Queenston Heights with a jaw dropping view ot the Niagara River.) You... More
