We stayed in a site at Hoggs bay close to the beach. The sites are at different elevations, trellised you could say, and there were some steep roads but it was relatively easy to level our trailer once we were on our site. The area we were in was busy. But we noticed the other areas were pretty empty. The... More

One of the worst camping experiences for our family. The park itself offers no privacy regardless of what the reservation site suggests. We booked a "high privacy" lot and we could not find a single place on our lot where we were private. The tree line is bare and the park is poorly maintained. The lot was full of litter... More

My family and I stayed at Murphy's Point in early August 2016 mid-week from Monday to Thursday. We camped in the west-most part of the Hogg Bay Campground loop in a hybrid travel trailer, so I'll highlight some helpful RV tips. The fresh water fill station and dump station is located near park entry on the left (follow the signs)... More

We love Murphys Point Provincial Park, Perth. It was not busy, hot outside, water is nice not only for swimming, but also kayaking and any water activities. No pets allowed.

Camped in Hogg Bay campground over two nights. Sites are ok and facilities well maintained, though no privacy between campsites. Hiked the Point Trail, which was a nice easy forest walk. Canoed the recommended loop and was pleasantly surprised at how easy this was for relatively inexperienced boaters like us, even with the two portages. Warning, due to accessibility of... More

The comfortable (warm water) showers, close proximity to a city in case you need to stock up (Perth) and of course very close to Ottawa make this an easy campground for more relaxed campers and families. The small lake has a lovely sand beach. Even at peak times, I don't find it too full to enjoy (but lots of people... More

I just love this place & so is my little Maggie. I usually come for the day to kayak on the Rideau River. What a beautiful lake that is. There's the boat launch where I start my kayak trip. You can either go to the right for the little bay. It is quiet and there are a few spot along... More

Stayed in Fallows. The tent sites are rugged and private. Fire pits are very functional and nice. The vault toilets are not being maintained very well. The park is almost empty and yet there is toilet paper strewn about and by the smell they have not been emptied or sanitized in awhile. The vault toilet at the walk-in beach was... More

This wasn't the best provincial park we have visited. The Hogg Bay campsites are very uneven and crouded with trees. Difficult to level your trailer or position it to use your awnings. Showers were clean. Outhouses ok too. We also had electrical issues in our area. Breakers kept going off. Park warden took a while to figure that out. Hikes... More
