Very informative museum, lots to see regarding pioneers of mining, hunting and local wildlife. We really enjoyed touring this museum, took us back in time!

Strolled over from the Micro Inn. I was expecting more on Sir Harry, and less on "taxied" animals. The restoration was nicely done, but room furnishings were scant. I think I was expecting something more on the scale as the Niagara Falls property.

I love going to the museum in Kirkland lake. It is so historical and welcoming. Many talented people perform and display their work here. I am very proud we have this in our town.

A step back in history is waiting for you. The dining room furniture is truly amazing. The other artifacts spread throughout the place makes you long for the older, simpler times in life. At $4.00 for senior, you can't go wrong!

Very informative. Wish there was something on Adams Mine which operated in the Kirkland lake area too prior to closing in the 80's.

It a good Museum, but it is too small. It is like big house. An hour is enough to walk through this museum.

Really enjoyed all the pieces of history. Discovered a lot of information about the town I grew up in. Well worth the small fee for so much education not only on the town, mining but also the mansion it is housed in. Enjoyable to bot people returning home and for new visitors to Kirkland Lake.

This museum in housed in the beautiful former home of Sir Henry Oaks, father of the Kirkland Lake gold rush. Check out the rock minerals display, early life in the gold mining era and original art in the gallery.

I have been to the museum several times for different events over the years. While the museum is very interesting and full of historical details about the town it does not seem to change much. For your first visit if you are interested about mining or northern life you may love it. Although most likely on your second trip you... More
