If you like cars and trucks, if you like a walk in the woods, or if you like historical buildings....this interesting collection brings it all to one place. Also worth noting that the diner makes simply the best old-school chololate milkshakes too!

Recently had the opportunity to visit this landmark. We brought along 2 children under the age of 5 to explore with us. They love trucks, cars etc so thought this would make a nice outing after having breakfast in the diner which by the way is a 5+++ for food! The boys loved the old vintage vehicles and the guide... November 2013 was the last time we came to this wonderful place that is really a jewel in our part of Southwestern Ontario. This time we treated my 97 year old mother to a drive out into the county on this early September and to take in the menu at the 1950's style diner located in the Transportation Museum part... More

Loved the vintage cars, motorcycles and trucks. The Fifties Diner was great. Food exactly as expected. Fabulous handmade onions rings. The service friendly and efficient.

We originally went out for lunch at the 50's Diner but ended up taking both tours- Village and Transportation Museum. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Due to previous theft in the area, we were unable to go by ourselves but touring with other people was alright. As all people who work there are volunteers, they were a little... More

The home cooked food is delicious. The car display in the museum is excellent. Thursdays are fun on hot rod night. You can even have an ice cold alcoholic beverage.

Well worth the trip. It is about 10 minute car ride from downtown Essex, Ontario. Great food at the diner for breakfast! Clean rental hall facilities! A great selection of heritage homes and log cabins to view of local history! Transportation museum provides viewing and tours of vintage automobiles and can learn a bit of history in the process! Check... More

We stopped there with our 7 year old and our 10 month old, but the museum has a lot to offer for all ages. The heritage section is a collection of cabins and household items that is set chronologically so that you can see the progression in all aspects of life. The staff was very patient and answered ALL of... More

This was a planned stop as part of a day trip to the area and had been chosen based on TripAdvisor reviews and it's location. The place is huge, and I had almost missed it because my GPS wanted me to turn in the opposite direction. It is right at the T of an intersection so you cannot really miss... More
