Stunning and Spectacular
Apr 2021
My daughters and I went for a week end in April 2021. We were beyond impressed with the food, the service, the facility and the very accommodating and friendly service. We stayed in the Maison Loft cottage and it was fabulous. We felt very safe in terms of cleanliness and social distancing. Our massages were amazing.
Michael in reservations and Sheldon at the front desk are incredible!!
It was a much needed getaway and worth every penny.
Thank you Michael and Sheldon and all the staff for their work to keep St Anne's open during these challenging times!

Rejuvination - A rare gift in these times
Dec 2020
I made my fifth visit to St. Anne’s in December, and it was the best experience to date.
The spa services are (as usual) top notch. This visit I particularly enjoyed the walking trails, and our group agreed that the food/menu is the best to date.
I feel fortunate that I was able to enjoy two days in such a beautiful setting, and leave feeling rejuvenated…a rare gift in these times.

Day retreat
First off I want to say the grounds are breathtakingly meticulous and beautifully maintained. It was a picturesque setting on a gorgeous fall day. It was serene and quiet which was the aim for a get away. The inn had the best massage chairs I have ever encountered on my many travels. Checking these complimentary chairs out is a must. The inn and spa seemed a bit outdated to me. The service was mediocre however the provider was professional and very pleasant.. The food included was o.k. for the price of the package. I think the presentation of some dishes were appropriate, whilst others were ordinary at best. Some of the dishes were dry and lukewarm. The best part was that customer service is of utmost importance to their entire team from reservations to the Inn Keeper!! There was always someone interested in how things were going or how things were handled. I didn't even have to 'complain'. Someone was there to check in on my experience and wanted real feedback. All in all, I would definitely go back. In this day and age where we can't travel far, this Spa is a nice break from the ordinary. Customer service is so very important and they definitely come up 5 star in that area.

AMAZING: a piece of heaven!
In the midst of the current pandemic, I was able to find a slice of heaven in St. Anne's Spa!!! Having received a gift card for the spa for my birthday, I booked the VIA train to Cobourg, where I was picked up and taken to what is probably the best spa in Ontario. Off the car and greeted by very warm and friendly staff, my "spa day" (overnights were fully booked) started with an orientation (big compliments to Wolf) and then off for a hike in the heavenly fresh air of the trails. The series of historic rock building that connect by beautifully designed English gardens, put one at ease right away. Passing by guests in robes (allowed/encouraged across the facilities), I could feel my stress slowly melt away. Fresh air walk complete, I head to lunch and enjoy a fabulous lunch (their beef is from their own naturally raised farm): what a treat! They are very generous and allow you to have more than one meal on the menu and service is always with a smile (big compliments to Supervisor Fran and Server Crystal)! While the spa is one of the best around, to their credit and the kind of welcoming tone established by the GM, there is an amazingly unpretentious, down-to-earth feel: I really felt at home within just a short while, and every staff went out of their way to support/accommodate any requests. Then off the fabulous "meditative" hot pools: aaawwwhhh...my stress just keeps melting away!!! Then to a fabulous deep tissue Swedish massage by Zach...felt so light after the treatment! Not to mention the array of complimentary massage chairs abound. All COVID protocols are in place and the whole place is super clean and comfortable. The Olympic outdoor pool was a huge treat and I found out that the property sits on its on spring water: the drinking water can't be any more pure!!!! There are good size lockers and they provide with you robes, slippers and there are many water/tea stations everywhere. I honestly can't recommend this place enough, especially their staff, including Courtney, Paul and Sheldon! BRAVO St. Anne's Spa for being a haven of calm and healing in the midst of our COVID reality!!!! I HIGHLY recommend this place...oh and make sure you try the duck confit for dinner: it will change your life!
Tip:Even if you can't secure an overnight reservation, take a day spa trip: it is so worth it!

Spa get away with daughters was wonderful. Felt very safe during these times. All the staff were helpful and especially Sheldon who shuttled us to our cottage on the property. His energy and enthusiasm was delightful.
Note for guests with wasp allergies, not the spa for you.

First Visit
This was our first visit to the spa. I booked very late and I had high expectations based on feedback from friends who had previously visited as overnight guests. I found the booking process a little misleading as the day rate was not clearly explained, and I was only told that $120 credit can be applied to spa services. Once the initial booking for the stay is complete, you are transferred to a second desk for booking of spa services. The total price is only calculated once your reservation is emailed to you. There was some discrepancy on pricing of identical services for myself and my spouse....which I tried to address when checking out. It was taking extra long looking into our account as there was obviously an error made, and I became a little impatient as the reception was not communicating with me, but rather kept answering the reception phone. It wasn’t resolved in my favour even though the spa made an error they didn’t honour the price on my reservation.

The spa services were good and well executed. It’s a lovely enough property with beautiful English style gardens, and landscaping...perhaps the interior decor is a little dated even after some recent renovations done during covid shutdown. The staff were on top of keeping things clean, and there was a young lady walking around handing out treats like granola or fresh berry popsicles even by the large outdoor pool. Masks were worn by all staff, and guests when inside.

I was expecting a serene luxurious spa experience since this is a destination spa rated as 4 diamond. However, we were not informed at time of booking of the renovations that continue to take place by the rotunda near the outdoor water therapies. Most irritating was listening to construction while having lunch on the outdoor patio, the dust flying as grass was cut while guests were sitting by the pool, and then there were large groups of ladies speaking loudly as they hung out in the water therapy pools. The lunch was okay, but not exceptional. The teatime was nice.

I had the sense that they try to to get a minimum 400 -500 per person per day...and I would say i was a little disappointed and felt that it’s not quite worth it at the moment.

What an Amazing Experience!!!
Covid-19 has definitely changed the way we spa and how we practice self-care routines. I was a bit skeptical of how the new normal would be at a spa and I'm happy to report my experience at Ste. Anne's was great. First, thing first...yes, you need to wear a mask. Especially, this coming week when it actually becomes mandatory when you visit a business. I too was wondering how it would feel to have a mask on while getting a massage and let me tell you, it's not that bad.

Let's start from the beginning:
Ste. Anne's is a destination spa, so I arrived promptly at 9am (my massage was at 9:45am but, they advise me to get there early to take care of forms and get acquainted with the space. I was given an amazing spa robe, sandals, and a key for a locker. I change and promptly saw my therapist, who asked me a few questions regarding Covid-19 and she's wearing a mask. (I had already filled out a form and Maria was just going over some of the questions). She's very nice and asks all the right questions. Maria, gave me an excellent massage! She was courteous, took her time and was a professional (I really needed a massage...three months of working from home can cause havoc on the body and mind). Maria never took her mask off but, I could tell she loved her job. She was attentive, kind, and seem genuinely concern for my wellbeing.

After the massage was completed, I went to the locker and changed into my bathing suit. I went straight to the hydro therapy pools. They have currently 4 pools open. Hot, cold, and two medium/warm pools. It's the perfect thing to do after a massage. The pools are clean and plenty of room to maintain social distance. After that, I had planned to use the steam rooms and sauna. But, they are closed due to government regulations due to Covid-19 so, I couldn't use them and then decided to head to the pool. It's a big nice pool with plenty of lounge chairs (nice and comfortable). Also, lots of towels available. After an hour in the pool, it was time for lunch. I noticed a few people were eating outside and since I was alone, I didn't want to eat in the restaurant's patio (indoor dining area is closed due to covid-19). I asked if I could take lunch to go. OMG what an amazing treat! They gave me a picnic basket (not really a basket but, a big thermal bag with my three entrees inside (appetizer, main course, and dessert), plus cutlery and lemonade. If that wasn’t enough, they threw in a white blanket in case I wanted to sit on the grass. I had actually seen a table with two chairs under an amazing tree and actually used the blanket as a table cover and had my lunch under the shade of the tree…it felt wonderful! I then took a short siesta on a hammock inside a small gazebo (there are a few of those throughout the property) that was diagonally from the tree where I had lunch. Yes, this place is absolutely perfect! After my siesta, I went back to the pool (because let’s face it summer in Canada is short, so we tend to take advantage of the sun as much as possible every time it shows up). The area was clean, chairs and tables organized, every time somebody leaves the pool area, staff members pass by and organize things, puts things back in their place and really keep everything orderly. I love that! Before I knew it was tea time. I decided to take my tea break outside as well, so I found this other nook (rocking swing chair) and wow…I opened the box and there were a bunch of goodies all for me

At this point, I was really attached to the place and dreading going back home. After the tea break, I went to the tranquility garden and enjoyed every single detail. Such breathtaking views, you get to breath fresh air and you feel the healing effect right away. The tranquility garden has this amazing huge tree surrounded by lavender and it give you that “aha moment” we all crave.

The property was spotless (some areas are being renovated, so you do see some things on the side but, I was so taken by the views that I barely noticed the renovation projects. There are hand sanitizers everywhere, washrooms are stocked with soap and hand moisturizer. The boutique is open but, they’ve also placed beauty products behind cabinets. To avoid multiple people touching items and minimize/prevent the spread of covid-19.

To be honest, things are difficult right now and trying to adapt to a new way of doing things, takes patience, kindness, and a positive attitude. I have to say that I was very impressed with the staff at Ste. Anne’s Spa. The front desk agent remembered my name only after speaking with me one time when I checked-in. The restaurant staff were accommodating to my requests (taking lunch and tea to go). They filled up my tumbler (purchased at the boutique because I wanted to have a cold drink by the pool) with tea/lemon and ice twice, without complaining. Everyone was so gracious and attentive. Even the young man picking up the towels, or the gentleman keeping things orderly by the pool. It’s amazing how staff makes all the difference in a spa (or any business for that matter). Ste. Anne’s is a destination spa with great services and amazing views. However, I have to say that probably the one thing that makes the visit memorable is the way the staff treats their guests. I’m back home and already looking at my calendar to see when I can schedule my next visit. You should too, you won’t be disappointed.

Dear Claudia M, Thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful account of your visit with us! In these uncertain times, we have worked hard to adapt as best as we could, sometimes with very little notice. What a lovely thing to hear that we are getting things right and making our guests as comfortable as possible. Hopefully we will see you again soon - fall is beautiful down here :).

Beautiful facilities and excellent food
Enjoyed the outdoor pools and the lovely architecture. Lunch was a highlight - the Mediterranean platter appetizer and beef burger were delicious, as was the carrot cake. All desserts gluten-free!
A weekday winter winter visit in March 2020 meant it was not busy - I don't think it would have been as nice at full capacity. Great spa day...

Amazing Day !!
An outstanding day spa experience ! Absolutely beautiful setting, clean, inviting, fabulous architecture, open airy rooms but lots of quiet spots. The hydrating pools are lovely and warm on a cold winter day and really add to the overall experience. We are already planning to return.
