Great hike. Trail is well marked. Difficult if you have mobility issues. Lots of tree roots across trails and some fallen logs. The view is breath taking.

We really enjoyed the hike out to Cape Split. Although the trail was a bit wet and muddy in spots it is an easy hike and well worth it when you get to the Cape and see the view. Try to time it for the...More

This is a wonderful hike for young or old. We hiked it June 7, 2018. I wouldn't recommend it for kids unless they can be carried in a backpack or jogging stroller. It was probably about three miles each way, with the steep uphill climb...More

Ignore the fear-mongers - it, of course, depends on what you're used to but this is just a long walk in the woods for anyone who is any kind of reasonable shape. We read '5 hours' round trip and allowed accordingly expecting a rough scramble...More

A spectacle that slows your breeze in a literal and figurative sense. I must say that this test is not for weaklings, old people and small children. Since in order to see all of these, you need to work hard to get there. But it...More

My first time hiking Cape Split, thought it would be quite muddy after all the rain from the day before but it wasn't bad, definitely could have gotten away without wearing boots. Took us about 6 hours only because we were geocaching along the way...More

Tried to see Cape Split without walking the 8 km trail from the parking lot to the end of the Cape but this was challenging. We tried side roads to see if we could get a view. In the end we took Baxter’s Harbour Road...More

Went out with a friend for the hike and a picnic. Compared to where I normally hike, the hike is quite dull and the view at the end is 'alright'. The cape looks far more dramatic in pictures taken by air than it is for...More

Get on this trail early so that you can enjoy the views without the crowds! If at all possible, you'll want to head out on a clear day, and make certain to wear sturdy shoes for hiking (the trail can be uneven and muddy) and...More

There's no fee for hiking the trail. But make sure to allow plenty of time, not only for hiking, but also for spending time taking photos, taking breaks, or even eating snacks along the way.
