Husband and I hiked 6.5 km in and out. We were in the woods the majority of the trail, so hikers really do need to wait for the end for the reward. We didn't bring food with us, which would have improved things. There were...More

8 km walk.Took us a little under 4 hours round trip with several quick stops. There is a washroom about maybe 3 km in as well as one at the base. No washroom at the top. BRING INSECT REPELLANT! The mosquitoes were vicious the closer...More

The trail says it’s 16km round trip but it’s actually 13km or 8 miles. The hike is not difficult but also not flat. And it’s almost all in the forest with few views of the bay on either side. Only at the very end does...More

We hiked this to the top and back in 2 hours 22 minutes walking fast. If you have a few hours, slow down and take your time. Some people have said its "just forest" all the way up but it felt like an adventure. The...More

On Sat. August 25 8 family members and friends hiked the Cape Split Trail. It was very busy. It has been more than a decade since I biked this trail - which was a significant challenge since the trail then was more switchbacks and above...More

So much hype about this #1 attraction. What isn't explained is that the hike takes place to within the last 200 meters in a wooded area, very wet and muddy, no "look offs" or any ocean views. Probably the dramatic views, when not foggy, would...More

Good long hike. It was pretty muddy, but it had rained quite hard the night before. Not a tough hike at all. We are in mid 50s and did it in 1 hour 25 minutes out, 1 hour 15 mins on the way down. Great...More

The hike is about 6.25km and took us about 1.5 hours each way. I would consider this an easy to moderate hike. It had just rained the day before we went so parts of the trail were really muddy especially the last 1.5km but it...More

I decided to try this hiking trail after reading about it on TripAdvisor. The description of the trail was pretty clear in that this is a 16KM hiking trail, so logic tells us that it isn't for the faint hearted. I decided to visit this...More

Cape Split is not to be missed. Be advised it is a serious hike, and there is no "easy" way out, but it is worth every moment! Just be up for 4-5 hours of tough terrain ( some easy, but you will find out what...More

There's no fee for hiking the trail. But make sure to allow plenty of time, not only for hiking, but also for spending time taking photos, taking breaks, or even eating snacks along the way.
