Lots to see in this huge park. Our favourite place was the Western Pond. A beautiful 45 min. walk on boardwalk and trail to the landlocked fjord of Western Pond. We took the boat tour which was worth it and a memorable experience.

We come to Gros Morne each time we're in Newfoundland. The views are breathtaking. Tip for travellers, you can stay in Deer Lake and drive out to the park and spend the day sightseeing. There's currently construction work being done in/around the park. No worries,...More

The inland fjord of Western Brook Pond is one of the big attractions - the walk in is a little longish, but not at all difficult, and over fascinating terrain. There are many walks and hikes from easy to climbing the mountain over days! the...More

This is a beautiful setting and wonderful silence; but be warned the hike is strenuous. Worth it though for the views.

Spend 2 weeks at Rocky Harbour and Gros Morne. Couldn't have asked for a better place for our honeymoon. The scenery is awe inspiring and gorgeous with great hiking trails. The weather is cooler if you're not expecting it, but nothing a good sweater can't...More

Park is spread out with many hiking options, some better than others. Lots of construction on main road throughout the summer, so keep in mind.

There is a lot to see in Gros Morne Park. One can spend several days. Table lands is spectacular. Still some snow in July. The Western Brook Pond boat ride was beautiful. Not crowded. Ocean side is beautiful. People friendly and helpful.

There are only 562 rooms in the park. So it will never have too many visitors (except on the boat rides). Stunning mountains and lakes and fjords. Nice local people. Keep your expectations for lodging down as this is a remote place with a short...More

Spectacular scenery on various trails but particularly the inland fjord boat cruise at Western Brook. Visitor and Discovery Centres are well done.

Such a difference from the east coast! We were lucky to see 11 Moose and a Black Bear. Lots of road construction so plan for drives to take a lot longer.

We've had a LOT of snow here in Newfoundland the past 2 months, and I've seen snow in May some years; I would wait until July or August to do hiking but check with Parks Canada in Gros Morne about their availability. May... More
Hello we were wondering how many days do we need in Gros Morne National Park ? We are planning a 7-8 days trip to New Foundland, trying to figure out if I can spend 3-4 days in Gros Morne and then come down to St.John's for 2 nights however we are not able to know if we need to spend the whole time in Gros Morne itself. Thanks Niki

It so much depends on what you want to see/do. If you are active, plan a hike up Gros Morne Mountain and the hike to the inland fjord. It is amazing but has to be done on a nice day or you risk cancellation. I also love the... More

There are so many things to do in Gros Morne that would be great for everyone. However there may still be snow or the hiking trails may not be open. But I don't imagine you'll be hiking or doing any really strenuous... More
