The GMWSRS is a multi-purpose not-for-profit facility that has a tiny marine natural history museum about the largest marine animals (Gaskin Marine Natural History Museum), a gift shop to help fund our operations with many local and Maritime crafts and gifts, and staff quarters for researchers and interns. Conveniently located across from the ferry ticket office, it is a great place to stop for a few minutes. Access to the museum is by donation.

The tour of Grand Manan Island was a trip to remember. Lovely small Island shops were interesting to look through and the old North Head Postoffice was one of them. Warm friendly people to greet you and offer great knowledge of the sllands history.

This little place gives excellent info on whales, sea birds etc. There are amazing skeletons of whale carcasses. There is a tiny gift shop in one of the rooms. Don't miss this.

Its small - about 3 rooms but very informative regarding whales and shorebirds. Some whale skeletons. Takes about 20 min to go through it. There is a small gift shop that benefits the museum.

Thanks for that correction. We probably don't want to be known as the "racy" gift shop. Could bring an entirely different cliental though. :-)
