This is a very pretty lighthouse that can be accessed from a parking lot that is quite a bit away from the light itself. There is a path to the light and a bridge across some open space, also a fair bit of stairs. It...More

Beautiful, working lighthouse that greets you as you come to Grand Manan and bids you a lighted farewell as you leave. Great hike there and back (lots of stairs!) but was rewarded with beautiful views all around and lots of historical information.

There are 89 narrow metal steps to get down to the wooden bridge to take you to the lighthouse. It was raining when we visited so we did not walk to the lighthouse. I took the pics from the ferry as we were leaving. Would...More

This is a "must see" when visiting Grand Manan. The story of how the lighthouse came to be is fascinating. It is a bit of a walk to the lighthouse but well worth it.

Not a lot of parking and narrow on the drive in. Be cautious and courteous. Great views, good photography options. See it in Foggy and Clear weather. The tour is worth the $5. Good history spot. Watch the Ferry come in and out.More

Yes, parking and narrow roads are common when driving to many lighthouses. Lighthouses are often situated on spectacular coast line for navigation purposes and were not designed for tourism. We have made as much parking as possible but it is limited. It is also in...More

I don't know what is more enchanting, looking up at the lighthouse from the ferry or a kayak, or standing below the lighthouse looking out at the Bay.

Swallowtail Light has boardwalk trails and steep steps around the lighthouse buildings. The views of the harbor at North Head and the rocky shore are beautiful. There is a small parking lot and a tiny gift shop. Guided tours are available in high season.

Beautiful views and lots of history. Don't forget to take your wallet with you or purchase your pass at the gift shop before heading down the stairs. (if you want to go to the very top of the lighthouse)

If you do forget your wallet, you can still take the tour and pay at the gift shop on your return. Cash, debit and credit cards are accepted at the gift shop. Cash only at the lighthouse.

An amazing walk over to the lighthouse that takes 10 minutes. If I had kids with me would want close adult supervision! The walk is free and cost to go up in the lighthouse is 5 dollars. Great views and history. Highly recommend.

Any pets need supervision as well and should be on leashes. The footbridge, path and boardwalk are safe but there are many opportunities to explore the peninsula at your own risk.
