This lighthouse is claimed to be the most photographed in the world. It is a must see on Campobello Island and can only be reached at low tide. The journey to the lighthouse is an experience in itself!

If you want to go to island you must come at low tide. If you are driving an rv the road is a little winding but can be done, and there is room to turn around in parking lot.

This light station, as it is called, is located at the east end of Campobello Island. The drive out there is winding and hilly. We arrived at high tide and thus were unable to access the light station since the steps can only be reached...More

Need to time it with low tide. It's a little bit of a journey up and down several ladders a a bridge, but well worth the effort

You really have to come out here at least twice, about six hours apart, once at high tide and once at low. At high tide, you see the raging forces that cut off the islands. At low, tide you get to up and down ladders...More

We drove here from St Andrews by the Sea(didn't take the ferries-drove through Maine and it took about an hour and 45 minutes with easy border crossings) to see the FDR house and hopefully see some whales. We had heard this is a spot to...More

The people are super friendly. The history is really great. you can listen to sound samples. We walked around the hiking trail. It was really fun for us and our dog.

Great views, lots of history. Just be prepared to walk over some rocks and climb some stairs. Definitely worth it!!!

What a beautiful place. The mystic is augmented by the fact you can only reach this place during low tide. While the three ladder/stairs are mildly challenging, the walk along the sea bed is as fascinating as the lighthouse itself. It's hard to fathom that...More

We went everyday to watch for whales, porpoise and seals. True east coast view. I had my dog so I couldn't go to the lighthouse but the kids went. I think they paid $5 each to walk over (low tide). Another $10 gets you up...More

You can walk across. Wear good shoes, yak tracks and perhaps a walking stick. The first field of boulders is the worst. I am 59 and did it 2 weeks ago. Beautiful views from the parking lot, or walk out on the trails from the... More

I would say you have about 2 to 3 h total or roughly 1.5 h on each side of low tide. If you get over to the lighthouse, the staff will give you about a 20 minute heads up to start thinking about heading back. It's only... More
