August 2017. We did 5 days of out-and-back day hikes on the Juan de Fuca trail from the various trailheads. Two of those days started and ended at Sombrio Beach -- one eastward and one westward. Sombrio is a very nice and very long beach,...More

We went one way as there is a west and east side. We got to cross a suspension bridge. Next time we would do the other side and find the hidden waterfalls.

Our car is a small car,but not bad to get there. It is very quiet beach. We enjoyed hiked there, and also we was careful a bear because someone met a bear on the trail before we went there one day.

Such a great escape from civilization with surfers and great falls. I miss the old surf shacks back in the early days before it came a official park. Terrible drive and hike when wet but so worth the views. Nice private oasis for romance too.

We were warned by the people who ran the cabin that we stayed at to park at the highway, and hike in. We were greeted by a lot of potholes of varying sizes on a walk in! There is no wonder people warn others about...More
