I stopped by while walking along the street. I wasn't looking for it. It you like trains, weather bureau history, old churches, or old military posts, its worth stopping if you are in the area. I won't travel here to see it. Nice piece of...More

We really enjoyed this small museum and collection. It's free and you can spend as little or as much time as you like. It doesn't take very long to view everything.

Very interesting tours of Indian village, a house that Mustard lived, barracks that they used at the time. Both tours $7 great value!

There really isn't much to review on this. Its a great little spot in the middle of town. If you are really into historic sites then stop by here!

It's free admission and interesting history. There is a volunteer who seems to know a lot the area and is very friendly and helpful with answering your questions.

The premises house several historical buildings from different eras in the town's history, and it is a free historical attraction in Bismarck. Park nearby, come here and read the info plaques, and go have a cup of coffee at a nearby downtown cafe.

The most fascinating aspect of this site is the outside map showing all of the buildings that no longer sit on the site. The site could certainly benefit from additional effort to explain these buildings and their purposes, perhaps through a short trail across the...More

Enjoyed the do-it-yourself, free tour reading the placards. History abounded in the early settlement of Bismarck: the Northern Pacific Locomotive #2164, the Weather Station and the first non-Catholic church. A free museum inside the weather station.

If you like History, and get a feel of stepping back in time, take a moment to drive out to the south of mandan and learn and walk in the footsteps of the mandan indians as well as custers forts....good deal
