everything is very organized but nothing really special here. I would walk uphill first and then back downhill so when you are tired you are walking downhill

Stopped here on a lovely fall day, wandered for quite a while. Enjoyed reading grave markers, some very very old. Well kept and lovely

This was a nice walk after the visit to the Home Church and Old Salem. The beliefs behind why the cemetery is the way that it is were explained in the church tour. It was also fun to find the first gravestone.

God's Acre is a beautiful and well kept cemetery. It is a peaceful place to spend some time and full of so much history. It is well worth a visit to spend some time.

The annual Easter Sunrise Service is worth getting up early!l Get there early, or go on Saturday afternoon when family come to clean the headstones. The very old settlement within view of the Winston-Salem skyline is amazing!

Old Salem is really charming. They are closed on Mondays so there are only 2 sites to see—the gift shop and the bake shop. Both are wonderful but there’s so much more to experience in this area.

This beautiful piece of land in the heart of Winston-Salem is so much more than just a cemetery. It's also a history lesson in Moravian tradition and a step back in time. There is something extraordinarily peaceful about walking through this cemetery, reading the stones...More

My favorite walks have been Spring and Summer evenings. Old Salem is an active, residential neighborhood with a college and boarding school, so there is no closing time. I suppose a late-night visit might look suspicious... More
