Wow! We had an amazing experience at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art. It started with the drive through a lovely, wooded residential area that had us wondering if we were on the right track. Then we arrived, and were pleasantly surprised by the setting...More

I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits. I did not appreciate how we were treated by the employees. It was 5 mins to closing time so we thanks the woman working up front and began walking to the car. We heard the door lock immediately behind us....More

We discovered this museum because we needed to charge our car. We actually went to charge and the museum had closed for the day and we charged at a Publix instead. Our curiosity was piqued and we returned. The old mansion hides a contemporary art...More

I don't know why people even visit here. Does host parties. Not much to it. Is located back in a housing neighborhood so at least it is safe to visit.

SECCA is wonderful if they happen to be showing something good. However, frequently they are between shows/exhibits. The old Hanes house is gorgeous as are the grounds but for someone who is expecting an exhibition of art it is critical to find out ahead of...More

Two different people recommended this museum to us. However, when we arrived, we discovered that they were between exhibits and there was literally nothing to see. The museum is in a home once owned by the Hanes family (as in hosiery) but there are only...More

SECCA is kind of tucked away in a neighborhood close to Graylyn, but it's definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. Admission is free, and they have a great collection of modern art. Everything on display was selected by Wake Forest students, which...More
