After going first to Bethania, we went to Bethabara for the history of the original settlement that gave birth to Winston-Salem and were well rewarded. The docents were passionate about their site, the orientation film was instructive, and the church building was simple and fascinating....More

I drive to this park often to use the walking trails. I like to go here at the change of the seasons to see the changes in nature. It is usually quiet and serene and this makes me feel one with nature. Love this place...More

Bethabara Park is a very nice place to visit and get a sense of the history behind Winston-Salem's development and growth and the story of the Moravian Church. The park offers self-guided touring or you can see it in the company of a costumed interpreter....More

If you're in town and looking for a nice place to walk, this is an excellent choice. There are beautiful trails, rolling hills, and if you're interested in history, you can visit the village itself.

The video shown at Bethabara Park was pretty informative. It is rather telling that it focuses more on the commercial aspects of the early Moravian settlements than on their religious activities. After viewing it, we discussed several matters of interest to us with the staff...More
