The plantation grounds are beautiful and the tour fantastic. The tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history of the plantation and family. There was a blacksmith working that I wish had a demonstration that we could watch. There were also basket weavers that were...More

I'm not sure I would go here unless there is a specific event happening. They use to do a haunted halloween hay ride, which was fun. They have a weekly farmer's market. They have a petting zoo on a regular basis.

I have been here in the past and had a guided tour which was very interesting about its history, however, my most recent trip was a disappointment and there was no tour guide available and it was a self-guided tour...not interesting. Call first.

Lovely home with great architectural details. From reading the brochures and different comments, I thought we would see the actual homes the slaves lived in which are not there, I also thought there would be peanut farming going on and there isn't, in fact I...More

There were lots of original things to see there and the tour guide was great. He gave us some insight into things that were very interesting. There was lots of history to see and we weren't even aware that there was a peanut plantation around.

While we enjoyed learning the history of the Foy family and our docent was eager to answer any questions. The property was lacking appeal and our guests were really disappointed that a peanut plantation had no peanut plants. They could at least give some history...More

Oh my! We are so sorry about not having any peanut plants for you to see in our vegetable garden, as they are out of season for April & aren't harvested until September. Your tour guide should have directed you to the Agricultural Building which...More

Poplar Grove is a lovely place to visit. The grounds are historic and beautiful. Not sure they do the best job caring for the animals there though. It makes no sense to save horses from slaughter and then hold a "Kentucky Derby" fundraiser for them....supporting...More
