I was overwhelmed by the sheer size of everything. I don't think I can even imagine the noise when those big guns were firing. I wonder if I could have been brave enough to stand behind one of the gun fixtures and fired it while...More

I cannot say enough great things about the battleship North Carolina! It’s a great and fitting monument to the sailors and everyone else involved in the creation and service of that ship! I’ve been on several of the WWII battleships and “Showboat” is the only...More

We love exploring this type of museum, a piece of history. The self guided tour is excellent, and there were lots of explanatory signs along the tour, many with memories from men who had served on the ship. The ship just reopened for visitors yesterday...More

Been multiple times. Very cool ship with a ton of history. I find something new every time I go. There are some precarious stairwells if you are handicapped in any way but all in all very open to all.

Visited the battleship with my teenage son and his friend one Sunday afternoon. There were a lot of others that had the same idea so the stairways were full. Make sure you time your visit right.

Absolutely loved taking the time to tour the USS North Carolina. The volunteers were very informative and made a portion of the tour great ! Make sure you wear closed toe shoes, it’s a lot of walking and climbing ( if you choose)

This is an excellent place to go on a field trip. There is a 10-minute film you can check out before boarding that gives a brief account of the history of this ship. There is a lot to see, so be prepared to spend at least... More
