Can't say good or bad because we were 30 minutes Kate and were refused to ride by grumpy dude! Rude about it and no good reason. It's rude to be late with no call, but we had trouble finding it and there is no cell service!!!! It really stunk for our 2 cars, 6 kids, party of 9! It may... More

When Victoria, our young guide, told me that Richard "did a lot of rescue work," I initially thought that he helped to find missing hikers and I momentarily marveled that that many hikers got lost in the area. I soon realized that Victoria was referring to horses who had been injured or had been mistreated and that Richard gave them... More

We took our girls (6+8) on a two hour trail one morning. Richard the owner was delightful and put our girls straight to work brushing down the horses and saddling them. Our guides were two young girls - both riding bareback - who were extremely confident and made everyone, especially our nervous 8 year old, feel very safe. The trail... More

Some of our family had been trail riding and some had never been on a horse before. The owner of this establishment was so kind and helpful it was such a treat! Our rafting excursion right before horseback riding caused us to be late. Even though he had already unsaddled and put away the 7 horses for our trip, he... More

I took my 11 year old daughter and her friend to Lonesome Dove while vacationing in a cabin nearby. The older kids all went ziplining, but the little girls were too little to go. Horseback riding was supposed to be the consolation prize, but it ended up being THE BEST! The staff was friendly the moment we arrived. They talked... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of taking a trail ride with Lonesome Dove stables. We absolutely loved our two guides - and we liked that it was only them and us. One thing that we enjoyed was that this was not a place that said "You can only walk your horse here - nothing else." They asked us... More

This was a good experience. Richard was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide hopped off the school bus and started the business of guiding us. My horse, River, even decided to take a mud bath while on the trail. He could have gave me some sort of warning. Lol!! Still, he was a great horse. I would definitely return. I... More
