1770 Distillery was established as a Boutique Distillery to utilise the locally grown fruits of the area and to provide a unique experience for both locals and tourists. It was John's dream to have a distillery and that is what led both John & Debra to the beautiful seaside Town of 1770 / Agnes Water in Queensland. The dream materialized after being bitten by the distilling bug whilst living in Tasmania. It was there that both John & Debra developed their distilling skill under the ever watchful eye of both Bill & Lyn Lark of the Lark Distillery.

Nice discovery

We came to 1770 looking for a beach and discovered this little gem. The owners are long time distilllers from Tasmanis and use the local fruit to produce delicious liqueurs. Yum!

Lovely quiet pet friendly location. Great Customer Service from the owners and freshly brewed good coffee and to die for sweets. Nursery and Gift Shop all at value for money prices. Wine tasting available and the "Strawberry Splash" Distilled wine is divine. A must when visiting Agnes Waters 1770.

Amazing place to visit! Owner was lovely, thoroughly explaining each of the 3 types of liqueur available. After taste testing, he explained how he makes them and it will blow you away how much time and effort is put into each bottle. Couldn't leave without buying one of his famous strawberry liqueur which is divine. Would highly recommend going and... More

We dropped in hoping for a really quick sample but got the bonus treatment. Highly informative spiel from the owner, John. Knows his stuff about whiskey. Only 3 of the four varieties to taste but all were completely different to any other fruit distilleries ive sampled. Walked away with a spicy citrus drop called Daybreak. The strawberry liquor was great... More

My husband and I visited 1770 Distillery today and very happy we did. We are away for a relaxing weekend so this visit fit in perfectly with our theme. The owners are very friendly and although the tasting is a small range it is wonderful and can certainly be understood when hearing the story of The Distillery's history. We are... More

We had a look at the nursery and then tasted the boutique liquors. Owner was interesting and informative and we left with strawberry liquor which was lovely with strawberry champagne (as suggested by the owner).

Great place to stop and wander the nursery before tasting the boutique liquors. Lovely owners who offer something unique and whats better than a tasting or 2! And then purchase a their products are great!

We were driving past and were pleasantly surprised to see this place open on a Wednesday afternoon. The owner gave us a tasting of 4 liqueurs as well as a very descriptive explanation of how he makes them. The passion he shows for the process of creating individual flavours is what makes this experience stand out. We bought 2 bottles... More

Amazing service & hospitality! Brought some liquors & can't wait for Christmas to make some yummy cocktails. The owner shared his amazing story about how he got into distilling. It's people like him that I love to hear about & support.
