We enjoyed the walk along the ponds that had bountiful waterfowl. There were lots of different kinds of birds, ducks, herons, egrets, swans. We were even entertained by a cute otter!

The volunteers at the visitor center are very friendly and well informed. The exhibits are educational and the artwork is fantastic. We also went across the street to the beach and did some shelling

If you enjoy wildlife & nature trails then this is a must see. We saw turtles (there's a turtle pond), egrets, gulls of course & other water fowl. The trails are well kept & an easy walk.

Stopped on our trip from hatteras to kitty hawk. Restrooms were closed. There were port-a-potties. They were beyond needing to be emptied and no toilet paper. We’d been here before and everything was clean and nice. Not today
