I am a big fan of supporting local, independent bookstores, and there is a lot to love about McIntyre's. Fantastic readings. Book clubs. Very cool gifts that bookish people love... However, I only award this shop four stars because they often fail to have the latest, hot off the press, exciting new books. They are particularly weak in terms of... More

Lots of comfortable seating including sofas & overstuffed chairs to grab a book, read & relax in a very enjoyable atmosphere. The staff is very helpful & knowledgeable. Readings are held virtually every week and local & national authors appear regularly. I love browsing in this wonderful independent book store - a dying breed. Fortunately, I live in Fearrington Village... More

I was a bit amazed, and excited to discover McIntyre’s Fine Books in Fearrington Village, during our recent stay at the Fearrington House Inn. We have always enjoyed bookstores, and had several favorites in New Orleans. Then, we discovered the Tattered Cover, when we moved to Denver, and fell in love with it. Unfortunately, with the rise in online retailing,... More

Top rate. Something for everyone. Nice selection and more importantly, very friendly. Can browse in here for hours and have a great chat as well. Knowledgeable staff writes helpful reviews which they tuck in the book jackets/in a page so you can walk the aisles, reading the reviews for their perspectives on a prospective selection. They still have a cozy... More

McIntyre's is a great little independent bookstore just outside Chapel Hill in Fearrington Village. Warm and inviting you could spend hours browsing the different collections and appealing displays. They also offer many events with very large events offered in the close by barn. Worth a stop especially if you love books and reading.

I will be back as soon as I can. There wasn't enough time for me to explore as much as I wanted to on the day we visited Pittsboro. Can't wait to go back on another treasure hunt.

I love all of the events that McIntyre's runs! They have author talks and signings regularly and kids events frequently and around the holidays. The staff is always helpful and they can get you anything that you are looking for. Love spending time here just browsing or picking out books!

Located at Fearrington Village, McIntyre's features the latest books for adults as well as an inviting room of books for kids and teens. They have a huge selection of mysteries as well as calendars and greeting cards. The space is divided into several rooms with some cozy chairs throughout making it an appealing place to spend an afternoon!
