About 1.25 mi each way, this trail is on a somewhat rocky but even path. There's one significant water crossing that older people or strollers etc. might have a bit of trouble managing. Otherwise it's a really pretty forested walk with lots of photo ops...More

It's an easy walk from the trailhead to the base of the falls. The trailhead is easily accessible. The climb to the upper falls, though, is dangerous.

A lot are saying it’s an easy hike and a gradual grade but there are parts that are very rocky and need care in traversing. Once at the falls, there’s not a lot of room to maneuver, especially if it’s busy, but it’s an absolutely...More

About a 2 mile round trip, and an easy walk to a beautiful waterfall along the river, with lots of mini waterfalls along the way. A bridge or two along the path and the trail is long and wide. Perfect place for a stroll and...More

A reasonable hike for anyone able-bodies. Those with difficulty walking or requiring assistive devices should not do this hike. Surprisingly good catch and release wild trout throughout. Really enjoyed the hike, the view, and the fishing.

As we are staying in Chesire, we saw that Catawba Falls was only a couple of I-40 exits away and we decided to drive up and give it a go. Getting there off I-40 is a little funky, you have to pay immediate attention to...More

The trail to Catawba Falls is an easy climb with a slight grade so it’s suitable for almost anyone. You’re rewarded with a great view of the Falls, but don’t expect anything spectacular :)

This hike was about 3 miles round trip and we completed it in a little over an hour with some time at the top of the falls to hang out, take it all in, get some pictures and do some people watching. We hiked in....More

We stopped on our way from Asheville to Charlotte and it made for a perfect morning break. The hike to the falls is well marked and takes about 45 minutes each way. The falls are tall and multi-tiered, well worth the hike.

Some might be but the closer you get to the falls it would be tough as it’s rocky but if you brought a hiking or sling pack you’d be fine. It’s not tough to traverse just rocky.

Excuse me, not swim swim, but you can play in some of the water areas. I plan to get in water....even if it's just sitting or my legs.

Yes, there is a parking lot and directional signage and info about the trail (and bathrooms). Dogs are allowed on a leash and it is easy enough for a dog to walk it.
