Teach's Hole Blackbeard Exhibit is a unique attraction devoted to all things "piratical." Since 1992, the exhibit and its pirate specialty shop have been a favorite destination for families visiting Ocracoke Island. The exhibit features a life-like recreation of Blackbeard, a weapons display, old bottles, original art, a pirate flag display, ship models, and interactive activities. As visitors leave the exhibit, they enter a one of a kind pirate specialty shop. Kids of all ages will enjoy Teach’s Hole!

Not much to the "exhibit." A small hallway without any authentic Blackbeard-related artifacts. More to see in the gift shop, honestly. Really should offer it for free just to get people to visit. I probably would have bought something in the gift shop if I...More

I have visited Ocracoke for two decades and had never visited here. The museum is cheap to enter but has lots of period correct exhibits to view and a couple videos about Black Beard. I enjoyed going through and viewing the exhibit and also the...More

It's a short little museum. Perfect attention length for my 2nd grade son. Price was reasonable, and the gift shop is nice.

Not sure how to write about this place... basically, it's a gift shop with a cheesy "museum"? Not recommended if you want to really learn about Blackbeard.

The museum tells the story of Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard. There are good displays, and informative audible exhibits. A must for a pirate enthusiast!

Neat place to visit for 15-20 minutes. Quick walk through the exhibit and then walk through the gift shop. Unfortunately there were a bunch of kids in there being loud so it was hard to concentrate on reading some of the exhibits.

At $4 each for a 20 foot walk, this is only for the little kiddies. The gift shop had lots of pirate stuff, if you're into that. I wouldn't really bother with this one unless the kids were totally bored.

It was a quick and inexpensive place to see the highlights of Blackbeard's life. There were a few video's, some art work, and facts about his life along with some period pieces.

Stopped in to learn about Blackbeard. Cute museum with mostly reading about Blackbeard and other pirate history. We learned a lot about Blackbeard. Very interesting. Would recommend this to anyone who is interested in pirate history.

The exhibit here includes great info on the most famous pirate in NC history, Blackbeard. I just ask one small favor of you...please, if you have children, teach them to be respectful when they're in the exhibit. There is a short historical movie that plays...More
