This museum is packed with history! The guides are volunteers and very knowledgeable. They share humor and truly make you feel welcomed. After leaving the museum, walking this the neighborhood is engaging.

If yoou have any interest in firefighting, this is a must see. They have both an Amoskeag and Button steam engine, as well as other trucks abd displays

Was a tad bit expensive but they have recently renovated and it was worth the price. Had a great personal tour. Lots of history!

We stopped in and took the tour. The guides were very informative and friendly. We learned a lot about the area and observed alot of history too. This museum is very well done and I would highly recommend if you are in the area.

The tour guide told very interesting stories about the history of New Bern and the fire department. Looking at all the fire trucks and carriages was fun too.

The guy that took us on a tour was so personable and knowledgeable. My 6 & 4 yo grandsons were in awe...so was I... The only thing lacking was a pole to slide down. ha

Normally the museum is open Mon thru Sat 10 am to 4 pm. Adult admission is $ 7, students are $4 and under 6 years is free. I do not know if they are open Thanksgiving Day, but I would think they would not be open.
