Very small with only two chairs. Real barber shop with two extra friendly barbers. The lady barber let my husband sit in her chair, put a drape around him and posed for pictures. They also have a few souvenirs and some tee shirts for purchase.

As it happened my husband needed a haircut so we wandered into the barbershop. Lots of memorabilia from over the years that the shop was operational. (The barber, after which the character on Mayberry was based, had died the day before.) On the day, however, a lady barber was available for haircuts. She does a very good job, but don't... More

The sign in the window said it would reopen on 10/8. However, on 10/10 it was closed! Disappointed--it looked very authentic peeking in the window. My hubby was looking forward to a haircut @ Floyd's.

Nostalgic and right on main street, so that is pretty cool. Went on a Saturday and figured "might as well get a haircut since I'M AT FLOYD'S! Wrong. Barbers weren't going to show up until Tuesday, but you could sit and talk to some folks there. Perhaps like a free museum of sorts?

My wife and I had a great time here. Toured the barber shop. Talked with Floyd's son for a while. Everyone was very courteous. Felt very comfortable. It was well worth the stop.

This is still an operating barber shop!! Both barbers were off the day we visited, but the lady there was very well versed in the history of the shop. It is full of "Mayberry" memorabilia. If you are downtown, this is a must see!

We visited a day when the barber was out so we were able spent more time with the owner, Floyd's son. The thousands of pictures on the wall are a testament to how many visit.

This is a cute stop in Mount Airy. My brother is a big fan and the owner talked him for quite a while. The owners father used to cut Andy Griffith's hair and was very friendly. My brother was so pleased to talk to him. Then we took pictures in the chair and they took pictures for their facebook page.... More
