Stop here and take a picture of your companion and start your visit to Mayberry. This statue was a gift from a television network. Sorry, I don't recall what one. But there is a plaque there.

The ladies in this visitors center are very helpful and knowledgeable about the Andy Griffith attractions and what to see. They were also very kind to our little dogs and made sure they had a drink of water.

This is the place to stop if you want to know what else there is to do in Mt. Airy...like the world's largest rock quarry and the grace of the infamous Siamese twins, Cheng and Eng.

The woman we talked to knew everything about Mt. Airy, Andy Griffith, and Mayberry RFD. We did not have much time so she prioritized where we should start and what to see.

We came in to find a map of the area along with finding a campground. The young lady behind the counter suggested one and since we could not get an answer at any of the others. Thats where we stayed.
