What makes this store a "somewhat" attraction and a Store combined, is because it is in Mt. Airy, NC, in the Downtown area, and located on the street that is part of the "Mayberry" set up from the famous old Andy Griffith Show look alike,...More

There's several stores in town that sell candy/sweets/ice cream/etc, however my favorite of all is Opies....very friendly atmosphere and I'm pretty certain they have the largest variety. Even better, their price per pound for all their candy is less than any other store in town.......save...More

I can't walk by without getting a bag of candy at Opies. All the candy that I grew up with. My parents had a local store that had all the penny candy a kid could dream of.

Fun, little shop with lots of candy choices. Young girl working was very friendly. Wish we had time to stay a little longer.

Neat place. The lady working there made us wait about five minutes to check out while she swept, which was weird. Otherwise good time and a good stop.
