Old North State Winery started as a cooperative in 2002 and has since evolved into a winery owned by two families with one vision. Our vineyards were established on farms that have been in our families for generations. We hope you enjoy the culmination of our dreams, our devotion to our farmland, and our passion for our wines produced at Old North State Winery. Most of our wines start out as luscious wine grapes grown on Yadkin Valley North Carolina family farms. We are the Old North State Winery, Inc. located in Mount Airy, in the headwaters of the Yadkin Valley AVA. Wine, beer and fine foods are our passion and our legacy.

Stopped here because it's a winery, which is a must visit for the wife and I. Wine was very good. Bartender Johnathan was knowledgeable and helpful with the selection, they also have craft beer. The food looked like a good value for what you pay. Didn't try food as we just ate at the Snappy lunch. If you love wine... More

Winery! That is all we needed to see from across the street. SAT at the bar with Jonathan as our host. Very pleasant to have Jonathan serving us our Vino. Delish! Will be back again soon. Thank you!

We entered ready for a round of wine tasting but walked away when told it would be $10 a person for a measly three wines (and no "free" souvenir wine glass here either). Spoiled by wineries in the Finger Lakes of NYS, we did order two glasses of Restless Soul dry red and considered it appropriately named. The Chardonnay had... More

I had the luxury of being able to eat lunch here twice during my stay, and was satisfied beyond belief. The first time, I had the Hippie Fish Flatbread...so delicous! The second time, I had the Pimiento sandwich on gluten-free bread and the beef vegetable soup...perfect meal for a cold and windy day. The staff was friendly and the ambience... More

So we picked Old North State Winery & Brewery....We had day off from work. Love the Mountains. Needed a town to eat lunch, walk around and get some grub. THIS IS THE PLACE TO STOP. Food was Delicious. Meat eaters and Vegetarians can both eat here! Burgers were the best and the Veggie Wrap was so large I had to... More

We were in the area to visit the Andy Griffith Museum and needed a place for lunch. This winery is centrally located on the main tourist street with both on-street and public lot parking very close by. The lunch salads we ordered were very good as was the Reisling wine.

To us Floridians, it was freezing cold in mid-December when we were strolling around downtown Mt. Airy on a day when not too many eating places were yet open. Thanks to a recommendation from a nearby shop, we wandered into a mostly empty Old North State Winery in the late afternoon. Settling in at the bar, we were immediately made... More

My husband and I sat at the bar to do a wine tasting and have lunch. Tyler conducted our wine tasting - very informative, funny and professional. Really liked the wines. We stopped on a Tuesday for lunch - and all bottles of wine were 1/2 price (at least on that Tuesday). So it was less expensive to order a... More
