Had seen Pilot Mountain many times but never been there. Went here on a Monday so no crowds to deal with. Did not go on any hiking trails because had young children but went on short trails and overlooks and we were not disappointed. Did not hurt that we had beautiful weather. Hope to go again one day when kids... More

You must stop at Pilot Mountain State Park if you are in the area. The park is free. The views are beautiful. You can see for miles. Highlight of our trip. You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely love Pilot Mountain. The state park is great to visit. Great views of Pinnacle, King, Sauratown Mountain. The local area has great food and great hospitality. Car shows, May Fest, Parades, it is an All American, old town.

We could see the Mountain for miles as we drove along the interstate and decided to stop and check it out. Great opportunity to do some site seeing and get out and stretch. They have lots of paths if you want to take an 8 or 5 mile hike.

Great views and nice trail network. The park Ranger was very informative if asked questions. Parking was limited and we did ok! Signs at the entrance to the park said parking lot full but we followed a few other cars up and had cars coming down so we know parking spots should be available. You will need to watch out... More

The drive was spectacular as were the views! There's plenty of parking and several places to get a breathtaking view of the mountains and surrounding area. Lots of hiking and walking trails. Keep on the path because one slip could be dangerous! Photos don't do it justice!

My family and I stopped here along our way to the ocean. I had seen reviews online and had high expectations of pilot mountain. It definitely lived up to its great reviews and I was not disappointed. The views are remarkable with several viewing points along the nicely kept path. It is definitely worth stopping at.

We stopped here for a morning hike as we were on our way driving to Hilton Head. We stopped in the park office to ask which trails would be best for our young kids (ages 7, 5, and 3) and they were very helpful in planning our hike. We walked along the Jomeokee Trail, Little Pinnacle Overlook Trail, and the... More

The photographer met us in the parking lot. We went up the trail a short way and she took pictures of my 2 great grandsons. Ages 6 and 3. They are some of the best photos I have of the boys. The backdrop of huge rocks, the trees, the rock wall, and the ones that show the far distance, were... More
