This is a very beautiful home. It is furnished as it was when Gertrude Smith lived there. It is free to tour and if you are interested in old homes this would be a place to visit.

We found out about this home tour when we stopped in the Visitor Center. It is a walk away from the Main Street, so you would need a map to find it, but it wasn't a bad walk. Go around to the back of the...More

Don’t miss out on this tour. It’s self guided which made it nice to be able to go at your own pace. Read up on each room and take plenty of pictures.

My husband and I toured this house. It is just on the next corner from the bed and breakfast where we were staying so we just walked to it. Nice to see if you like old homes, antiques, and history.

Take a free tour of the house of a Mt. Airy grand lady. Beautifully maintained by a trust established by Gertrude to all it to be open to all.

before visiting Mayberry we researched where we wanted to be sure and visit, Gertrude Smith house was on our list, so glad we went, a step back in time and a beautiful experience
