The hike to the summit is seriously no joke. On a clear day, I bet it is absolutely beautiful up there. Even in the fog, the atmosphere was serene and peaceful- it made me think of being like Aladdin and Jasmine in the clouds. Totally...More

Stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are picnic tables and the visitors center right there. There is a nice parking lot and some bathrooms also near the trail that is uphill. It is a nice ride going up...More

From the visitor center it´s about a half a mile walk to the viewpoint. It’s rather steep, so wear good shoes. We were surprised bij rain, so a raincoat is a good thing on a cloudy day.

As it was raining the way up the trail, it looked quite eerie. The walk is from start rather steep but doable and about half a mile. When we were on top, there was not much to see, due to wether conditions.

A beautiful view from the top of the mountain. Small gift shop and public restrooms. Picnic tables. I go there often.

Waterrock Knob is one of the most accessible views on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The parking lot alone has breath taking views. Plenty of room to picnic, see the visitor center or just relax. The hike itself is about 1/2 mile one way and is...More

This time of the year I personally would not walk from the summit to the parking lot after dark. There are lots of bears around. The sunset from the west side of the parking lot is awesome!

Absolutely. As with most public areas it must be on a leash and please pick up after your dog. I hope you enjoy your trip.
