Wish I could have gone up the mountain. The weather was fine at the entrance when we arrived. We were told we could only go up 1/2 way for 1/2 the price. We would not see any exceptional scenery just their animals in the sanctuary....More

Grandfather mountain is such a beautiful place to visit. They have a museum inside and you can cross the swinging bridge. Great place if you want a breathtaking view.

Good place to stop with the family. You can drive to the top and easily walk across the swinging bridge. For the more adventurous (and physically fit), hike the Grandfather trail to MacCrae peek. A fun but strenuous hike climbing over rocks and up ladders...More

A "must see" stop on The Blue Ridge Parkway. Spectacular views from the Mile High Swinging Bridge! Be aware it can be very windy but that can add to the excitement of crossing the bridge. There is also a nature walk and environmental wildlife habitats...More
