On first sight, the Kure Pier may seem to be just another fishing pier. However, if you spend some time in the area, you quickly discover that the pier has special place in the community. Every time you step out on the pier, you are...More

It’s a pier. Apparently great for fishing. We walked on it and it is just a typical east coast fishing pier. In January it is quiet with a few people fishing.

A walk on the pier is the best way to take in all that is wonderful about the ocean. The ice cream is wonderful and the shopping for beach decor is hard to beat.

We love the pure beach boardwalk in particular. There's a pier with fishing, a nice bait shop and restaurants with shopping all around.

Or maybe an hour at the beach. A little numb from the wind, cold and rain. Still a beautiful day and miles of beach.

take a walk out to view stars and hear the ocean fish yourself or watch what the others pull in. Kids love fishing.

The pier is free to walk out on, but you do pay if you want to fish. Be careful walking though, as the pier is in bad shape and many holes and bad boards. A great place to people watch and exciting to watch the...More

We picked the wrong day to go to Kure Beach, it was cold. We took a brisk walk to the end of the pier and a short walk along the beach before we left, forgot how cold it gets high waves and windy but still...More

Excellent vibe, at once relaxing and exciting, on this active fishing pier. We wandered out to look for a whale that had been sighted in the area (no luck) - but plenty of things to see, as lots of activity going on both on-pier (fishing)...More

Their store had just about anything and everything so I imagine they had chairs and umbrellas. Extremely nice people so if they don't have them they will point you in the right direction.

They have some things like that at the pier but you will be better served at a big box store before you get on the island. The pier shop has cool trinkets and souvenirs and fishing stuff
