This is a fabulous place to watch the sunset. We drove to the end of the road and parked the car after reviewing sunset times. There were a lot of people around so we wore masks. There is a little hike off the parking lot you can take. It was freezing cold so if you prefer to stay in the car its preferred. The other parking lots have beach areas to walk and rocks around the parking lot.

I stopped here after visiting the nearby Aquarium. The views of the ocean were great! It was around 50Fahrenheit and the winds were quite strong, but it makes sense in January. I only have videos of this location, which you cannot share here. Would recommend if you’re ever in Wilmington!

We and two grandchildren spent two days at the beach. We slept at a nice campsite at Carolina Beach State Park Campground, just five miles away. The beach is long, wide, and uncrowded. There are sheltered picnic tables, a park office, restrooms, outdoor and indoor showers, and vending machines. There was a ocean breeze for flying kites, and nice breakers for body surfing or a buggy board. There is a paved parking lot. There's an historic fort nearby, but we didn't visit it. There is no cost. The beach is long, and the remotes parts of it lack amenities.

Great place to take a kayak, windsurf, go canoeing, maybe fishing. This place has it all. Its right on the point where the ferry comes in and the waves are crashing on the jetty. its so surreal, take the drive and explore.

Very old.very nice.lots of history here for all kinds of people. Monuments .plaques. Great place to visit. Beware and read the signs folks....it is against the law to be on the rocks......the fishing is great.the waves nice.peaceful and wuiet.lots of people around. But no visible outdoor restrooms for public....thats about the only real downfall. Most all areas.at Carolina beach.Kure beach.and Fort Fisher have no bathrooms a lot of times. Kure beach has some but they lock them a lot so you may be out of luck....but mc donalds is within 5 miles.
