Me and my family have been going to this park for years and love it. It has a recreational kids park with slides and swings and picnic tables too. There is kiddie train adjacent to the park that the small kids love for a small fee. The Nature center features a snake exhibit with many snakes who call NC home... More

Stopped by for a quick look. Fun playground for young children and a planetarium and interactive science museum also for the young ones. Kayaks are normally loaned out in the summer but not now. You could drop your own canoe or kayak there. Fellow in the science museum said the Nature Center is under construction so maybe later in the... More

The Don and I stopped by the park on the advice of a downtown merchant who told us about the bird there that was her grandson's favorite. As we pulled up it was obvious that the site was closed for repairs needed due to the recent Matthew related flood. Nonetheless we were greeted warmly by the park manager who graciously... More

We toured this iron clad confederate boat after an introduction by David. He gave us an excellent overview of the boat's history and the construction of this replica. He had many stories about how this boat was built by volunteers and the challenges faced in building this. He definitely made our visit very informative and very enjoyable. This is well... More

Eat a take-out lunch at the MaryMac Ritch Lookout over the Neuse River. Park there, beside the Farmer's Market. Then, walk around the walkway to the river's edge and sit in a swing to relax. Take the children to the nature museum and the planetarium onsite. Enjoy the ride on the train onsite. Park you RV in the park. Visit... More

This is a beautiful park by the river. Has a nice gazebo and is very near the Farmer's Market and downtown Kinston. A great place for a romantic walk or just to take your dog out for a stroll. Well maintained and pretty.

This is an older park and nature center but with support from community donations, it is a fun and educational experience. The planetarium is very good. Kids love the hands on play areas, The basement nature displays may be a bit scary for small children since you are going into a basement, but it is very interesting to see the... More

This is a beautiful campground right on the Neuse River. It has full hookups. The sites are large and have a picnic table and fire pit. The park is well maintained and enjoyed by many. There are wooden swings along the river bank-great place to relax and read a book.
