An easy trip from Durham to visit a winery with dry wine that are offered for tasting.in a beautiful venue. It would be a wonderful place for a wedding venue and we were advised that it books quickly. No muscadine vines and no muscadine wine, thankfully. The wines offered for tasting had some age and several were enjoyable. No food... More

Visited this winery the last week of Febuary. Great place to visit once you finally get there. About 20 miles from Durham. Used a Groupon for 2 Tastings and a glass of wine each. Great deal. We actually tried 21 different wines. The only problem was we tried a couple of wines from 2006, 2008 and 2009. I think these... More

I've been to this vineyard 3 times now. The first and second time I went were wonderful experiences. This last time, they had the main section of the building closed and had the tastings in a smaller part. I understand the reasons for it, as it costs so much to heat/cool such a large space. The wines were not that... More

It took me three trips to actually get here when it was staffed, as they appear to close their location during scheduled business hours without attempting to alert anyone to this. I did finally get there though, and it was most definitely not worth the wait. They have a large number of wines... so much that they offer a pure... More

We drove an hour to get here only for it to be closed!! Lights on inside but no one there. All website, phone message and literature says 7 days a week from 1-5:00. Very disappointed.

We drove 17 miles in the rain from the B&B where we were spending our first anniversary, only to find the winery closed! The website specifically stated that they would be open on December 31 (see photo), and we planned our entire day around our visit. What a waste of an hour -- and more than that, an entire afternoon... More

Made a late Thursday afternoon stop for a tasting while traveling east from Asheville. As another reviewer mentioned, it is well off the beaten path. Picked it for its eastern-most proximity to I 85 as we headed east. Beautiful building and well tended vines in view. Many offerings and many sweet wines. We looked at the two dry lists and... More

Very relaxing and different. A great change of pace for me. The wine brewery, the wine tasting and the general store on the gardens was great, they had a live band located outside of the general store/gift shop. You could purchase the wine of your choice from the store. There was also a vendor set up on the gardens so... More

Location and building are pretty. Staff was freindly and knowledgeable which is important to me. They have three different wine tastings that you can select: Dry Red, Dry White or Sweet. In my opinion they should make less variety and just focus on a few that are good. I liked the two wines that were aged in oak but one... More
