Latta has history and solitude. Took a very pleasant 5 mile walk during the week, never encountering other hikers. A terrific green space just north of Charlotte. Also has equestrian center and riding trails Great place to get away from the crowds

I had never revisited a plantation before. This isn't a huge plantation like I envisioned but it is still very interesting to learn about the lives of a plantation owner and his family.

We thoroughly enjoyed the museum, site and the interpreter who is very knowledgeable. With other facilities nearby (Rapture Center, Nature Center, Equestrian Center) you could easily spend more than one day in the area. They also host several festivals and historic re-enactments during the year and we have already made plans to return for one of them. Definitely recommend this... More

What a great gem, just outside Charlotte. Beautiful for a stroll along the paths and lake, and stables available for riding horses.

My husband and I went to check the place out to see if it was somewhere we would bring our five-year-old granddaughter's. We think the plantation is more for older children even though they do say there's a petting zoo. We also went on several of the walking paths but they were fairly rough. So, stop at the nature center... More

If you just want a nice drive, the 0.9 mi drive is calming and enlightening. Canoeing, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, bird watching in the raptor center, avoiding wildlife at the turtle crossing and of course the piece d' resistance, the Plantation itself! Even during the tree barren winter you could not go wrong driving the road!

We decided to spend the afternoon by visiting Latta Plantation again with an out of town visitor. We have been several times and always enjoyed the grounds and touring the house. The movie orientation was excellent. Our experience this time was uniquely enjoyable because of the outstanding services of a docent named Cliff. Cliff was amazingly knowledgeable about the plantation... More

We just went for a drive and came across the sign to the Latta Plantation so thought we would visit. For our $8US (+tax) entry ticket we got to see the host and surrounding buildings, there were lots of people dressed in period costume and we got to see a war reenactment - the war where Davidson is shot through... During a weekend visit from my sisters and mom, we decided to visit Latta Plantation. The Plantation is located deep inside a nature preserve. Once you reach the Plantation you pay a small fee of $8.00 per person for a tour of the home and grounds. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative about the Plantation, area and customs... More
