Visited the Pointe du Chene wharf this weekend while going to Captain Dans. The wharf underwent lots of renovations this winter and it shows. Restaurants and coffee shop located right on the wharf. There was lots of people jumping off the wharf as well.

Very relaxing spot that I recommend visiting!

Pointe du Chêne wharf is a great experience for everyone. There is an $3 entry fee that gives you access for the day. Great location to spend an afternoon, you can watch the lobster Fishermans load their traps and see their catches (if lobster season is on), kids can jump off the wharf near the lighthouse, take pictures by the light house, eat an ice cream, walk on the beach...lots to do!

Sometimes the Coast Guards or RCMP's will have their vessel ships parked there.

This was relatively easy to find. We were on our search for Parlee Beach and we seemed to run into controlled access points so continued on to the wharf. There was a small admission of $3 which was acceptable for a days access. it is a wharf with several businesses/restaurants and some parking at the end. A large Canada safety vessel is docked there with 2 large, fast inflatable boats on board. It was a well equipped boat. Many people fish from the dock and apparently they are looking to catch mackerel. We didn't have the chance to visit Captain Dan's Bar but would have liked to. You could see the start of Parlee Beach off to the east and in fact at low tide we saw people riding bikes on the sea floor. To the west you could see the town of Shediac. There are probably some great sunsets from this location.

All in all it was an interesting place to visit and spen dome time.

Watch the young folk diving and jumping into the bay, fishermen an fisherwomen casting for their supper. Sailboats racing, kayakers, and sea doos. Great food, ice cream and a candy store. Parade of interesting cars and people to watch!

This is a 150 year old wharf which is now something of a tourist attraction. Locals fish from the harbour wall and the brave jump into the sea!

The old offices of the Harbour Master provide a viewpoint and a coastguard RIB is based there. When we visited it had just returned from a training trip and the guards were happy to talk about their duties.

There is a good restraurant, a very good ice cream shop, plus the usual touristy shops.

Although the wharf was busy, there were places to sit and people watch - plus in the evening of our visit various 50's and 60's cars were "parading".

You can wander, use it as base for longer walks or just chill out away from the smells of some of the other Shediac bays which, sadly, appear to be a bit polluted.

The $3 access fee appears to be the only income to cover the maintenance of this fascinating place.

The locals jump off the end of the wharf or fish from it. Several souvenir shops and a restaurant. Three dollars to park there but a nice walk to get an ice cream at scoops.

Half of the shop was closed. The parking is 3$ but I don't know why. There are just nothing to do there.

Always a crowd at the end of the warm, leaping into the Bay! Everyone has to do it once. Nice place to visit in the evening, but a tad tacky! Couple of places to eat, picnic style and of course a tacky shop or two. It is one of the few places to sit on a bench and enjoy the sunset. Bring $3... to get onto the warm...it's being rebuilt!
