Just amazing views. A 2.2 mile hike will reward you with its secrets. I suggest you take a right and take the hard way up and the easy way down. Parking can be an issue so we parked on the road. Peak season it was. It is not long after you get near the top that a view is your... More

If you haven't done this hike...sorry. It's a must do at least once a year!! Park in the lot, leave a donation (please) and head up the trail. We highly recommend that you take the Right Fork going up. It's the steps and maybe a bit steeper, but...it's much easier going up than coming down. The down route make a... More

This is a hard walk for someone not in good shape. Definitely take the left side going up. We went down the left side, it was pretty tough.

What a great hike, especially during leaf season in NC. Short but steep trail takes you on a loop above a wide valley, with sweeping views of the mountains that drop down into South Carolina. Truly striking views. There were lots of hikers, and many elderly hikers, so be not deterred.

A real "must see" if you are in the area. Have been hiking this mountains for many years, but always a great experience. My "go to" hike when I don't want to travel to a remove spot. Easy trailhead access with facilities. Because of these factors, this is a very popular hike, so expect to meet some friendly folks along the... More

One of the best views possible. Just outside of Highlands. The mountain trail is a loop. One side is flat and steep and other zig zag and steeper. For an easier time go up and back on the leveled main trail. We enjoy bringing lunch and sitting atop a big rock at the top.

Nice moderate level trail with great views. This trail is relatively short (about 2 miles) and has great views.

Took this 2.5 mile hike and we were finished in one hour and ten minutes with stops to enjoy the great views. Parking lot was full on a beautiful fall day at a cost of $2 per car. If you want a good workout then stay to the right when you head up the mountain. There will be a fork... More

Make sure and make a right to go up the stairs and go down the easy grade counter clockwise. It's the best way to do the hike IMO. Have fun.
