Nice walk

Nice paved path with views over the dam, not very long (2 miles total, maybe?). Lots of bikers and families, joggers. Bring sunscreen!

Nice Walk and View
Jul 2020
Nice walk along the top of the dam area - Paved across the top (in the sun) and it takes you to a wooded area trail. We did not go into the woods - just walked back across the dam (which wasn't a short walk), but the wooded trail looked very inviting.

Peaceful and Clean. Pease do not litter.

I enjoyed the view, the paved trail, and watching others enjoy a nice time. It's a rather long trail, but very thought provoking. I didn't track it but its at least 1.25 miles one way. But you can't even tell. I was lead to a campground.

Lots of lake goers on boats and jet skis, lots of people fishing on the bank.

Not much to say. Nice views.

PACK it in, PACK it out. Please do not litter.

beautiful park

you can walk along the 'levee' for a bit, great views of the lake. There are a couple of spots to take a dip. There is also a boat launch, but not sure how it is to load. Area is kept up very nicely--no garbage on the ground and it was mowed and well maintained.

Lovely Place to Get Some Exercise
Feb 2020 • Couples
The Chatuge Dam trail is 2.5 miles round trip over the dam and through a wooded area entering the Gibson Cove Campground. It is paved and has beautiful views of the Lake. There is often wildlife in the area and of course “in season” lots of campers. If you continue to the other campground down the end of the road owned by Clay County there are picnic areas, restrooms, beach, and a children’s playground. Great place for outdoor family activities. If you do have a camper both campgrounds have been significantly updated.
